We have a few task forces and committees that do not have a cap on membership and would like to show no vacancies because there are not any seats to be considered vacant.
We have a few task forces and committees that do not have a cap on membership. They are very informal groups.. Is there a way I can indicate this while creating their membership make up?

You can create a board with the number of people you currently have serving. In this example we can say 5 people are on the board. Then you can say "Yes" to accepting applications.
Then you can set up the seats on the board and then fill them with the current members.
If someone leaves the board but you do not want to show a vacancy on the public side, you can vacate the seat and then disable the seat so it is not seen on the public side but the admin side will retain the record of the seat history

You can add members that served on the board as far back as you wish. We have municipalities that have board members listed going back decades! Go into Manage Board and under Actions choose Add History. It will bring you to the Add History screen ...We have a board member who is giving notice of his resignation several months in advance. The board seat will remain shown as active until the day after the end date then the seat will show as vacant. You can fill the seat in advance as well putting the same date under Actual Start.
