For one of our committees, the student member term will remain a three-year term, but will now begin on September 1 and expire on August 31. How do we remain the historical data and update the term with the correct dates?
Adjusting the start date on a current seat will involve a couple of steps depending on if someone is currently in the seat.
Assuming that this is the Student Rep seat currently from 2/1/22-1/31/25, we will assume that the current term is being shortened to 8/31/24, here are the steps to adjusting this seat.
- Edit Seat and change the Term Seed Date and Term Length. The Term Seed Date will change from 2/1/2019 to 2/1/2022. This will tell OnBoardGOV that we are calculating the current term. Then we change the 3 years to either 33 months or 43 months, depending on when you are ending the seat. Save this.
- Nothing will appear to have changed because we can build a new seat, but if someone is on the current seat, we will need to ask them to stand up and then sit in the new seat. So delete appointment for the current member. The new term will show as vacant. Then Fill Seat with that person.
- Now we need to set the seat back to 3 years, so Edit Seat and change the Seed Date to 9/1/2024 and Term Length to 3 years. When you renew, all will be correct.
