We had a board that initially ran from January 1st to December 31st. However, the board was reconstituted and instead of setting up the terms to run from March 1st to February 29th they set up terms to run from March 1st to December 31st.
Once the member has served their first term, it will go back to running from January 1st to December 31st.
The first thing you need to do is set the term seed date to start date of the current term and make the term length to the end of the current term (in this case March 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024 which is a term of 306 days.
Then you fill the seat with the current term. The term will show under the calculated term.
After you fill the seat, edit the seat to change the seed date and length of the next term (In this case 1/1/2025-12/31/2025). The current term will be retained as the change will only affect new terms and appointments.
Now if you renew or fill the seat for the next term, you will see that the new term will be listed.
Now if you go to the history for this seat you will see you will see the terms properly displayed.
Also if you need to preceding term(s) you can do that by adding history.
