Can you please explain what an inherited seat is?
An inherited seat is a seat on a board that is occupied by a member of another board.
For example: If your bylaws or regulations require that whoever is the Civil Engineer on the Airport Committee must also serve on the Airport Advisory Board.
So when you go to the Airport Committee you will see Mojo is in the Civil Engineer seat on this board.
So now you need to add an inherited seat to the Airport Advisory Board. So you would add a seat but click on the down arrow and choose Inherit seat
Then OBG will ask you what board and seat you want to be inherited. So in this case you want to choose the Civil Engineer Seat on the Airport Committee and click Submit.
Now you will see that Mojo is listed on the board as an inherited Seat serving the same term he is serving on the Airport Committee.
This allows you to make sure that whoever has to serve on another board as part of his or her duties will always be consistent.
