I have a new board whose seats have staggered initial terms.
This is only for the initial term and then the seats will be renewed with the
same length terms. Example: 3 seats with a 3 year term and 2 seats with 2 year terms
that will become 3 year terms upon renewal.
Build the board and define the seats based on the initial
setup. Example: 3 seats with a 3 year term and 2 seats with 2 year terms.
Fill all seats with the members appointed to those
positions.
Now that the seat is occupied, use Edit Seat in the Actions
dropdown arrow (or click on the seat name) to go to the seat that should have a
different term length once the shorter, initial term ends.

Next click the blue Edit button at the top to go into
the seat definitions.
The first step now is to unlock the term setting so changes
can be made. Click on the red lock icon and click OK when promted.
The second step is to update the Term seed date to
the date that the next term will begin. (This tells OnBoardGOV to calculate the
next term based on that date.)
The third step is to update the length to the new number of
years. In our example of 3 seats with a 3 year term and 2 seats with 2 year terms,
we update from 2 years to 3 years.
The final step is to click the Submit button.

This will preserve the initial term and the change to the
term length will be automatically applied when the next term begins. The seat
will keep that new term length going forward for each renewal.
